i'm just full of randomness today

wow, it's kind of a shock to realize how damn COLD it is to crawl into bed without your e.b. -- and no, i don't mean them fancy existentialist boyfriends; i mean electric blanket. how on earth did i ever live without such prewarmed fabulousness? oh, that's right, texas.

surprisingly, the sappy country song has not, in fact, been induced by sappiness. au contraire; we decided to say no to assault and theft by finally installing a working light bulb on our front porch, per neighborhood rules. only instead of the 60 watt jobbers that tend to be the bulb of choice around here and burn out after approximately a month, my sister went for the 150 watt halogen bulb. you can see the WHOLE damn neighborhood. no one lurking in the shadows around here, buddy! (although that may also have something to do with creepy smoking neighbor guy having moved sometime during the summer).

speaking of smoking, one of my favorite things about winter is definitely watching the smokers huddled in corners, often inappropriately dressed for the elements. i know it's mean and antisocial of me and all that, but, boy, does it ever make me laugh!
