i actually did some stuff.
and now i have to post it to make it true. etc.
last weekend... no, two weekends ago now... uh oh... i was officially installed as the basement roommate/relegated to my dungeon home. most of my stuff (minus the computer crappage) is successfully moved down there. only that's about as far as it got, and it's still sitting where it landed. when did i become messy? also, i have an entire one of these full of books (that i heart -- the shelf and the books). people keep telling me i have too much stuff... just because they have to help me move it every couple of years, geez! I MIGHT WANT IT AGAIN! thankfully, my mother did not stick to her former assertion that i had to have a boyfriend before i would be allowed to move again.
it is the second day of summer school and my professor already knows my name. as does the graduate advisor who didn't plan on having to deal with me until august. i'm one of those obnoxiously high-maintenance students, it seems. oops... *pretending like i really care*
but i DID get graduate man to admit that i am actually going to be a teaching assistant next year. which i'm kind of excited about, because it pays for me and also because i'll hopefully get to play with little unsuspecting undergrads (bwahaha!). more work, but better experience. and messing with people.
working overtime + summer school + japanese + maybe occasionally being useful with the business plan internship = too much after my (three year) bout of laziness. if i lose it, this is a good reason why (but if i start talking to the furniture, it's just because i am presently catless until i re-traumatize trauma kitty).
tickets have been purchased and time off approved. there WILL be july roadtripping. i'm totally pushing the route through fruita, colorado that would take me to the mike the headless chicken museum. even though i'd miss the festival, this would totally make me happy. probably happier than it should.
and i actually got into trouble in old town again for the first time in forever! i went to my sister's best friend's twin's bachelorette party (it works, i promise) and we generally ran amuck. the best part is that my sister is 6' and the twins are probably 5'10" and one of the guys we were out with is maybe 5'. which makes for fabulous pictures that i will post when someone gives them to me. plus we managed to get kicked out of the drunken monkey. tee hee hee. there was a time when i would have been mildly scandalized by such goings-on. how things change.
aaand my four hours of sleep are starting to wear thin, so i should maybe eat and do some homework now. ta!
p.s. wheetabix crispy flakes "delivers goodness in a jolly new form." i love the brits.

I have that same bookshelf, but darker. It was a bitch to move, heavy as all get out!
Congrats on all the school stuff.
Now, if it was a bachelorette party, why was there a 5' guy along with you? Did he stow-away in your purse?
woohoo for official roadtripness!! i cannot wait for you to visit :)
