chain of events

so, you may wonder, what happens when the power goes out in the middle of the day? well.

roommate's computer crashes. mine saved by ridiculous power strip (must see to appreciate), but... power strip starts beeping. can't stop the beeping. fire alarm starts beeping. can't stop the beeping, and also can't get the batteries out of the alarms. cat is running around nuts from unusual noises. call dad. he is zero help. go downstairs to see if i can trip a breaker and if dog is freaked out from fire alarm. dog gets out. all lights are out on all floors, so figure it's power rather than breaker. go upstairs. dog is puking on floor. put dog outside. clean puke. dog runs away. go chase dog. cat gets outside. decide to catch dog first. eventually come back to house with dog under one arm and cat under other. mercifully, things have stopped beeping.
