Repeat Pocket Behavior
It always starts with a smile.
Seriously. Because before the exBoy was the ex, or the Boy, he was Smiling Boy. Simply a new variety of pocket boy who happened to smile at me every time he saw me. First it was simply amusing... but then it progressed to intriguing and, eventually, completely obsessive in a self destructive manner. Technically it worked out in the long run, depending on which one of us you ask. ;o)
But I had thought it was just him. That something about him made me just smile back at him for a good 4 or 5 months before I ever worked up the nerve to talk to him, and that being only after he cussed out a computer lab printer simply to get my attention [in retrospect, a slightly less than beautiful start to the relationship...]. For some reason, I thought there was (a) no Smiling Boy phenomenon, and even if there was, then (b) I'd play it differently the second time around.
Well, I haven't been wronger since I bet all that money that the NHL would work things out with the players association. Smiling Boy Part Deux has managed to creep his way into my attention, and simutaneously, my neurosis. And today I had the good presence to sit at the same table as him, for a good two hours, never speaking, and only passing awkward smiles when we were caught (by each other) looking at each other.
Oh well. Its not as if if I didnt expect to be able to graduate without another dose of Crazy Ass Crazy. Geez.
