empathy awry
have you ever noticed how one person's mood can change the entire dynamic of a place? i guess it's herd behavioral skills or something, unconscious sensitivity to changes in our environment. who knows, but it can certainly catch you off guard. all of a sudden, you want to hit things and it takes a while to realize what happened and mentally override it. positive moods are contagious too, but i don't notice them as much; they don't affect me nearly as strongly or give me that sort of sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. and i don't think i was this responsive to any of it until recently, but maybe it was just typically me in the funk. at any rate, it's a strange sort of thing, and i'm not altogether sure i'm fond of it. it's definitely interesting to watch it ripple, though, if you can detach yourself enough.

p.s. isn't the world amazing?

Yeah, and then enough is enough and you blow up and people wonder why??? (I did that the other night, sick of a certain friend's constant negativity. As I walked away I heard him saying to another guy, "I don't understand. What was all that about?" Of course, shifting 'blame' onto me. Detatch yourself, that's the clue, but sometimes it just gets too much, right?
